Spanish Rice

Ingredients

- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cups long-grain rice, uncooked
- 2 large green bell peppers, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 2 medium onions, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons cumin seeds, crushed
- 1 -1 1/2 teaspoon salt, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 6 cups water
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
Recipe
- 1 in a large pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat.
- 2 add in the rice and next 7 ingredients.
- 3 cook and stir often until the rice is browned.
- 4 add in the water and tomato sauce; stir to combine.
- 5 bring to a boil; lower heat to medium; cover and cook 25 minutes or until rice is tender.
