Turkey Chili-a-roni

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons mexican seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons onion flakes
  • 3/4 lb ground turkey thigh meat
  • 28 ounces medium salsa
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 ounces rotini pasta, uncooked
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Recipe

  • 1 heat olive oil.
  • 2 sauté green bell pepper for while.
  • 3 add yellow onion and sauté for a while.
  • 4 add minced garlic and sauté for while.
  • 5 add mexican seasoning and onion flakes and stir.
  • 6 add ground turkey thigh, crumble and brown until cooked.
  • 7 meanwhile heat salsa with water, chili powder, dried oregano, sugar and pepper over medium heat.
  • 8 add cooked ground turkey mixture to salsa mixture and stir.
  • 9 add rotini and bring to a boil.
  • 10 reduce heat to low, stir, cover and simmer until rotini is cooked stirring periodically.
  • 11 remove from heat.
  • 12 stir in cheddar cheese.
  • 13 enjoy.
