Yogurt Rice

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups jasmine rice
- 2 cups plain yogurt
- 1 cup cilantro, chopped
- 1 teaspoon jalapeno, chopped
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon hing
- 1 tablespoon channa dal
- salt, to taste
- 3 curry leaves
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Recipe
- 1 cook rice.
- 2 cool, then mix in yogurt.
- 3 heat oil in wok, then add mustard seeds.
- 4 when they crackle, add chana dal, hing, curry leaves, ginger and jalapeno.
- 5 stir and cook 1 minute.
- 6 add to rice, along with cilantro and salt.
- 7 chill 1 hour.
- 8 serve cold.
