Yogurt Rice

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 1/2 cups jasmine rice
  • 2 cups plain yogurt
  • 1 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon jalapeno, chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon hing
  • 1 tablespoon channa dal
  • salt, to taste
  • 3 curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Recipe

  • 1 cook rice.
  • 2 cool, then mix in yogurt.
  • 3 heat oil in wok, then add mustard seeds.
  • 4 when they crackle, add chana dal, hing, curry leaves, ginger and jalapeno.
  • 5 stir and cook 1 minute.
  • 6 add to rice, along with cilantro and salt.
  • 7 chill 1 hour.
  • 8 serve cold.
