T. G. I. Friday's French Onion Soup

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 4 cups onions, sliced
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon cooking sherry
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 dash dried thyme
  • 1 cup crouton, soft
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter in saucepan over low heat. add onions and cook 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 2 add beef broth, water, sherry, worcestershire sauce, pepper, and thyme to pot.
  • 3 increase heat and bring to boil, then reduce heat. cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • 4 divide into bowls.
  • 5 top with croutons, then mozzarella. -broil until cheese melts and begins to brown.
