Yummy Meatballs And Pasta

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 250 g lamb mince
  • 250 g beef mince
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon oregano (dried)
  • 3 tablespoons semolina or 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • lashings ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon oregano (dried)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 700 g tomato passata
  • 350 ml water
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • salt & pepper
  • 100 ml whole milk

Recipe

  • 1 start the sauce first.
  • 2 put the onion, garlic and oregano into the food processor and blitz until very finely chopped.
  • 3 heat the butter and oil in deep pan and add the onion mix.
  • 4 cook over a low heat for 10 minutes or so until soft.
  • 5 add the passata and water to the pan with the sugar, salt and pepper and leave to simmer for 10 minutes while you make the meatballs.
  • 6 put all the meatball ingredients into a bowl and mix together using your hands.
  • 7 shape into small balls (around a heaped teaspoon each).
  • 8 add the milk to the sauce and then drop the meatballs inches.
  • 9 don't stir them until they've turned brown.
  • 10 cook for 20 minutes, check the seasoning and serve over pasta.
