Whole Wheat Basil Pasta

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 (13 1/4 ounce) package whole wheat penne
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 -3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons dried basil
  • salt
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese

Recipe

  • 1 cook pasta according to package directions.
  • 2 meanwhile, saute onion in the olive oil, along with the dried basil. saute over medium heat and stir frequently so the basil does not burn.
  • 3 cook until onions are tender and translucent.
  • 4 add salt to taste.
  • 5 when pasta is done, drain and add onion basil mixture.
  • 6 add cheese and toss to coat.
  • 7 serve warm.
  • 8 add salt to taste if needed.
