Whole Wheat Pancakes

Total Time: 10 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup oat flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons applesauce
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • chocolate chips (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat griddle to 300. scramble egg and mix in apple sauce. sift and add dry ingredients. pour buttermilk on top and mix by hand until lumps are mostly mixed. spray a light coat of non-stick spray on griddle. measure 1/3 cup of batter. if desired, add a few chocolate chips to each one, dabbing them into the batter to cover. cook until light brown (about 3 1/2 minutes on one side and 2 minutes on the other). flip carefully. continue to cook until the middle is done (do not overcook).
